Eight members along with two Elmhurst members are currently participating in a Property Management Planning course run by the Wimmera Catchment Management Authority. Ran a bus to the Farming for the Future Forum.

Guest speakers are a regular part of the meeting line up. The hosting of the Mountains to Mallee film night was a highlight of the year with over 200 attending. Ripping and 1080 baiting for rabbit control continues as does Fox Off baiting and weed control. Pattersons Curse is one of the targeted weeds which will soon be sprayed. Gorse control in the Upper Catchment is also being addressed. Have recently participated in a Strategic Planning Session run by RMCG to re-focus the groups activities.
Great Western
The group gathers quarterly at member’s properties for a meeting and BBQ. Would love to attract some more members to the group and hope to form ties with other local community groups. Currently looking at a 12mth plan of activities and will be paying particular attention to field trips, social/community gatherings, guest speakers. They have some funds to undertake rabbit control work and aim to engage Project Platypus to facilitate the works. Also are planning an overnight trip to an example of sustainable farming practices near Hamilton.
Jallukar
The group values the social nature of activities, exemplified by the strong Pomonal community.
Landsborough
The groups President and Secretary coordinate weed and rabbit control with the use of the Landmate crew. The Landmate crew have cleared and sprayed weeds. Howard and Malakoff creeks are now predominantly clear of Gorse and Spiny Broom. There is ongoing monitoring of the scour project which was completed with Project Platypus. However, with no large downpours the has been no disruption to the site.
